About Us
Who owns ozecover?
Ozecover is privately owned and is entirely independent of any health insurer. All of the shareholders are professional consultants or actuaries with considerable experience in financial services and health insurance. We provide our users free health insurance comparisons of funds and products.
One of the shareholders, Rice Warner, is a firm of actuaries that conducts research in many areas including superannuation, life insurance and health insurance. They provide Ozecover with data on health insurance products and certify to us that the data is accurate.
More information on Rice Warner and their services can be found at www.ricewarner.com .

Philosophy and purpose of Ozecover
Ozecover is a free information service for consumers. It is our philosophy that consumers should be able to inform themselves easily and reliably from an independent source covering the whole market in private health insurance. We believe many consumers want more than the information given out by individual insurers or by brokers (including websites) that show only those products for which insurers pay large commissions.
Ozecover's main purpose is to help you sort quickly through all the health insurance products on offer, and to get details of rates and benefits as well as general information, so you can make well-informed decisions about paying for private health care for you and your family.
Health insurance funds do not pay Ozecover to have their products shown on our website. Our revenue comes through referral fees from health funds that choose to link with us to receive applications from the website directly or to receive requests for contact sent by you through the Ozecover site.
These referral fees are small (2.5%) and do not affect the price to you. They contribute to the costs of operating the website and managing the links, and providing space for linked health funds to advertise.
We plan to profit from high volumes of business rather than from high fees, so premiums will never have to increase due to our role.
Ozecover is a low cost site. We do not spend huge amounts on television or other advertising. We rely largely on word of mouth from satisfied users and recommendations from other professionals.
If you are a journalist or commentator on health insurance, feel free to use any of the material on the website (please just acknowledge the source). Feedback that helps us do better is most welcome.
Consumers' Right to Information
Under the Private Health Insurance Act 2007, consumers have the legal right to request information and insurers have a legal obligation to provide information in the form of a Standard Information Statement ("SIS") for every product. We publish only information to which consumers are entitled under the Private Health Insurance Act 2007. We respect the legitimate intellectual property rights of health insurers and wish to avoid any infringement of copyright. If any health insurer claims any of the information on this website infringes any such right, please refer the claim to us in writing, and include:
- your details as complainant.
- a statement that you and the alleged copyright owner believe in good faith that our use of the material complained of is not allowed by law and the basis of those beliefs.
- particulars of the copyrighted material claimed to have been infringed.
- details of the material on the Ozecover website that is claimed to be infringing.
- a statement from you on oath that your statements are truthful and accurate and that you have the authority of the owner of the right that is allegedly infringed.
- the signature of the alleged copyright owner for the purpose of the complaint.
